Don't trust this company, they are a full scam company, I paid them for some forms and they never sent it to me, when I asked them to send it to me they told me to F OFF.
It was a divoce kit that I ordered, they took my money and didn't send me anything, they are a scam they don't have any forms.

On July 15,2009 we received a funny email from J. Kirby Inwood stating "We are filing a libel and personal injury suit against you for the defamatory postings on your web site at You are going to wish you had never been born"

Think twice about sending ANY personal information in regards to your legal situation to this company, stay away completetly!In my case, I filled out the info requested online and gave a very brief explaination of my case, when I sent it, I realized that I forgot to fill out another part of the information field. I got a response like this:

    "why did you submit twice?? For this reason your submission has been rejected" ....then the representative of that company went on and made horrific personal jabs at me and awful accusations!! I couldn't believe it!

    This outfit has got to be an outright scam! They are expected to be professional, descreet and impartial. Never would I ever take any advise from any lawyer that would have any affilation with Canlaw!

    My tip of the day, if you need legal advise, get a hold of your province's Law Society's Lawyer Referral Service, I've learned my lesson, there are too many scam artists out there, do it right the 1st time!

  3. Beware of Inwood J. Kirby he is a thief and a sick man. His business is NOT a LEGITIMATE business and he is bitter and lives his life abusing and stealing from unsuspecting customers. He is a vile predator. In the early eighties he was CONVICTED of ASSAULT against his wife Tanya Sidorova. He has the gull to wine about not having access to see his son Michael Sidora. He basically lives in complete contempt of the law and abuses the public with his CANLAW site. If you have been taken by this man please contact the Canadian Antifraud Centre 888-495-8501 and report your case. The more cases against him the better! This is an excerpt from the Canadian Law society that want nothing to do with him : Since 2000, the Law Society has received numerous complaints from lawyers and members of the public about CanLaw, CLI and J. Kirby Inwood. The complaints relate to communications received from CanLaw, CLI or J. Kirby Inwood which are offensive and expose the recipients of the communications to hatred, contempt, abuse and obscenities. The following are examples of such communications:
    "You are a sick, hate male sexist bigot who is definitely trying to restrict my freedom to express my opinion.
    Women like you are monsters who take and take and take."
    "You are a fool and a bigot".
    "STEP [sic] TELLING US WHAT TO DO IMMEDIATELY YOUR HIGHNESS. WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE YOU ARROGANT, CONCEITED BITCH1 [sic]"
    "WoW! Both a pig and a rat.
    Utterly contemptible."
    "Look you pompous power made two bit flunky, we do not take orders from the likes of you."
    In order to avoid the possibility of abusive comments such as the foregoing, the Law Society suggests that lawyers not reply to any e-mail or other communications from CanLaw or CLI.
    A referral service that facilitates public access to lawyers' services should reflect credit on the administration of justice and the legal profession. The Law Society does not believe CanLaw or CLI is such a referral service and advises lawyers not to use the service.

  8. I have been reading these posts because of an instance where he has threatened someone in my own family and it really makes me upset. He wants all of us "women" to be held accountable for our actions. He is threatening legal action against a few people, I have discovered. Libel and/or slander I guess. Perhaps he needs to step back and take a good look at himself - maybe it will scare him. He is not only doing what he is accusing others of but WORSE! Look at his website where he has pictured his ex-wife and wrote all those nasty things about her!! PICTURES!! Is HE being held accountable for HIS actions?!

    My whole reason for commenting here is specifically for the person that received the email from him regarding the legal action. I have a very good friend that is a criminal lawyer and he said that the email he sent you - if it really says "you will be sorry you were ever born," then it is borderline, if not complete and full extortion and it is a SERIOUS CRIMINAL OFFENSE. You keep those emails! Look into this further and you'll see that you are able to fight back! This guy is a sicko and disgusting - offending MEN AND WOMEN ALIKE! And another thing - depending how much he is supposedly suing for - he must (as we are in Canada and not the US) prove that he has lost that money. At best, he could go to Small Claims court (up to $15,000) and maybe make off with a couple hundred IF HE'S LUCKY - but it will cost him approximatley $120 to file the paperwork with the courts. The Statement of Claim also must be made TO YOU DIRECTLY - IN PERSON - and on the appropriate letterhead. If that does happen, hire yourself a Civil lawyer and make sure you have that (and other similar) emails in hand. This guy thinks he's a hotshot lawyer wannabe and he's just not. He needs to get over himself. Just because he thinks his ex-wife owes him doesn't mean the rest of humanity (namely all women) does. And why is he so childish that he has to go on make profane and unnecessary comments when they have nothing to do with the situation at hand? Grow up already!

  14. This man is grown up. If you can believe it! From what I've researched and found on the iternet he is probably in his 50's. I talked to people that know of him - have dealt with him and he's a nasty piece of work. He is VERY preditorial!

    If you or any of your family has been threatened - abused, or called on the phone - I strongly urge you to call the RCMP because RCMP files can be filed all across Canada! Files and evidence are needed for this poor excuse a person. This is serious stuff. This man is still engaged in criminal activity. Look he uses fraudulent websites for internet fraud and thinly veiled threats if you don't pay up for product he doesn't provde. That's theft and fraud. And then he loves to make moron out of you. Part of his sick persona. Which should be taken very seriously. There is no need to be civil and polite with this creep!! Perhaps Mantracker would love to find this perpetrator!

He takes full advantage of people in terrible situations like a death or divorce in the family and then he calls those people things that are just "above the law".   18. I also found out after calling the law society - and this makes me really upset and mad is that a judge actually had to hire protection from him!! Yes - even a judge had to get police protection from this guy. So if anyone hires a lawyer - another piece of good information to know about what and who you're dealing with and how bad of a piece of work this guy is!!! And - what upsets me most is he's still out there committing crime!!!

If you have been scammed and then harrassed by this man, put in a police report in your area. Also add a file to the Canadian Anti fraud which is an extention of the RCMP.

  20. Anyone who has been threated with a lawsuit need not be afraid! And don't be intimidated and bullied into settling with him if he offers such a deal because it's BOGUS!! Don't get in the middle of his sick games! File police reports and go as far as you can to protect yourself from this poor-excuse-for-a-human-being (and definitely NOT a man of all men!!) Don't let this idiot push you around. Stand up for yourself any way you can. If you feel you need to, you can always consult a lawyer as most will give 30 minutes free initial consultation. If this will reinforce what is being said here then by all means! But it is NOT recommended that you use his Referral Service - use an accredited one such as the Law Society of Upper Canada. The only reason why he strikes down the BBB and any other businesses and warns against them is because there are NUMEROUS reports against HIM!! Go have a look - it's absolutely disgusting! He is all of those things that he accuses others of being and all those nasty things he calls others. If any of you have had correspondence with him then you will know EXACTLY what I speak of.

    His business is to intentionally not send anyone forms or whatever one has ordered. So be clever - keep a record of what transpired as well as your correspondence. He is not too sharp and that is why he likes to poke fun at so called "deadbeat professionals" In the end it will be the so called "deadbeat professionals" that will have his deadbeat butt put in jail or fined up his ying yang.

  24. Worst experience of my life. I was very angry by the time I actually got to the point where I received the family will kits and could access them. He baited me into an argument by not sending me what I had ordered and spamming me with an ad to purchase credit and fico score reports everytime I asked a question. He was making threats to charge me more money and of course by this time he already has the credit card. He insulted me with name calling and character attacks.
    I think he did not activate my passwords to download and then unzip the files until (which require separate passwords)I prompted him several times so he could spam me with his ad and call me incompetent etc several times.
    I have not had a chance to review the documents yet as I was so pissed off by the time I was finished i just did not want anything to do with it.
    I will certainly be sending a note to everyone in my outlook inbox as well as everyone on facebook and asking them to forward to everyone on their mailing lists to avoid this F%@#& guy.

  25. I had the unpleasant experience of dealing with the nasty, rude person I.J.K at canlaw.com. I had simply asked about where I could find a legal form to download on to my computer. This is the responses I received.
    "You have your nerve. Stupid, lazy and a parasite too"
    "Stop whining you lazy bitch. The world does not owe you a living."
    "Kindly go to hell and do not contact us again or we will call the police".
    I was shocked, at first, but released soon enough that it couldn't possibly be a legitimate site.

  26. I just dealt with this scum. When I was doing research for a paper, he told me to "do you (sic) own research you lazy slob". Thinking it was some kid who wanted to get fired form his job, I called to complain, and the phone was answered in an angry voice "CANLAW". I asked to speak to a manager to which he replied "WHO'S THIS!?!" I told him and he said "STICK THAT COMPLAINT UP YOUR A$$ AND NEVER CALL HERE AGAIN". I naturally called back and was told he's calling the police on me for harrassment. Wow. Totally nuts.

  27. I became a victim of this guy when I contacted him and asked to cancel my subscription for referral services (I am a licensed with the Law Society paralegal). He said that I do not advertise with him, that I am "an idiot" and I should stop harrasing him. Then he hunged up on me. Since I have a proof that I was paying the guy through my visa, I called the police and aksed for help. I was refused as they consider it as a civil matter. Agree with them, however, after reading of this numerous people's complaints, I assume that it is definitely time to take care of that fraud. I will conact Canadian Anti Fraud Centre, the Law Society of Upper Canada and force my visa to stop paying to this fraud

I think it is worth mentioning, as a client that had a relatively good experience, that you can use canlaw to get in touch with OTHER lawyers in your area that are just normal, working professionals and NOT scam artists. Inwood J. Kirby may be a scum bag (I wouldn't know), but I am putting it out there but canlaw can be used as a legitimate ref. service for clients.

  29. GOOD do it and call your VISA and don't give up! I fought him tooth and nail and I won. It took months and it was worth it. I have the biggest file on him with clear evidence of all his BS. I printed every piece of correspondence with obvious non-professional banter with many of his mistakes and then I filed a complaint prooving I did not receive what I had ordered. I got my money back. He was dealing with the wrong person. This guy is not a kid (approx in his 50's). He was charged with wife abuse and he lost custody and will never see his son again, who is now a grown man.

    He is a career criminal. Don't waste time with niceties. I used my Mastercard and he had his facts so screwed up he thought I paid by Visa. In the end it was Mastercard that he had to answer to because they called him. And how are you going to fight in court against Mastercard.

    OK ripped-off consumers need to get him off the internet for good. I'm keeping my file on him for evidence for his future date in Court. And his time will come one fine day what he has done to others will come back to haunt him even though he's very careful to work just above the law.

  31. The person that posted October 2009 - that's what happened to me. To this date I am still pissed off. I put in a complaint to the anti fraud http://www.phonebusters.com referred to me by the Police and is a divison of the RCMP. This is a legitimate site!

I asked for help for tickets i have in the past cause i want to get my life back in order and he boldly refused me said "i should be locked up and put in jail" and said "he was calling the police" and that i was a low life to society.This guy is not worth the time.   39. Well, sad to say I was had too...it came at the worse time after my partner had a heart attack. I was already distraught at the prospect of losing the dearest person in my life and his absolute garbage mail was the lowest of hits - have no words for it. Like others who have posted, I felt threatened and worried that this person has my personal info. I wrote the BBB but no answer and too busy, recovering and broke to pursue this issue legally. My question to fraud busters, police, etc who are supposed to protect the public form this garbage is: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING TO LOCK HIS SITE DOWN AND EXPOSE THIS PERSON?? I would hate to see anybody go thru this - especially an eldery who is sick or struggling and adding this message hoping it can save someone else the grief. Standing in solidarity with the above complainants.

Furthermore, he has been convicted more than 10 years ago of spousal abuse and he is permanently banned from ever seeing his son and ex-wife. During his case he threatened a judge and the judge had to get protective custody. You were dealing with a psychopath and psychopaths have no empathy or feelings for other human beings, animals or any other living being what-so-ever. This type of personality disorder cannot be treated. He will never change his behaviour no matter what. You did the right thing to contact the RCMP right away or phonebusters also known as the Canadian Fraud division of the RCMP.

    I had the pleasure of dealing with him today. Got a nasty response after I filled out form for lawyer referral, so I replied that he must be some sick bastard whose wife left him and his kids don't even talk to him. Then after googling his name I found out I was correct! Sadly, it's worse than just wife leaving and kids not talking to him.

    He's violent, beats women and apparently assaulted his one year old (at the time) baby. Now that's horrific. And he's out in the community, ripping people off for a living!

  44. It is 2012 and he is still committing the same fraud. How can we stop this sick person? I ordered a separation kit, was never able to open it. When asked for assistance, a bunch of belligerent emails flew this way: "Learn to use your mac you moron. The files work perfectly even for idiots like you";
    "No refund and if you try to reverse the charge, we will assess your card a $200 fraud fee and call the police."
    Same scenario as others - I thought it was a joke, but indeed, this man is a sicko who is unfortunately still doing damage to people. I've done my part in reporting, but really, there's gotta be something else we can do to stop. or there will be further reports, only after the damage has been done.
